Described in the New York Times as the “gold standard for office chairs” the Freedom Chair redefines the concept of traditional executive chairs. Designer Neels Diffrient aimed to design an office chair that automatically adapts to the individual user and allows the user to move freely in different postures. Diffrient has taken a unique approach. To create a true ergonomic task chair, we’ve removed the intricacies of other chairs, such as the hassle of reclining levers and the tensioning dial on the backrest. As a result, he developed a reclining mechanism that is perfectly tailored to the user and reinvented a brand new, simple, functional and beautiful task chair
